New Enterprise Business Partner Development and Mentoring Program

dev2Alcatel-Lucent’s North American Enterprise Regional Support Center is pleased to announce the launch of the new Enterprise Business Partner Development and Mentoring program.

This new program is designed to enhance field knowledge beyond our formal classroom training and certification programs. Our goal is to secure the knowledge that partners must develop as they drive to achieve autonomy, revenue growth and profitability, partner and end-user satisfaction. One additional benefit to the program will be a reduced dependence on ALU regional Sales, Systems Engineering and Professional Services teams.

Program Overview
This program is comprised of two core components:

  1. A regularly scheduled Mentoring Webinar series
  2. Technical Sales Support Hotline


New Mentoring Webinar Program
Beginning April 1st, the new Proactive Mentoring series will commence a schedule of weekly online webinars that will focus on a rotating set of topics of importance to the Sales, Pre-Sales and Installation/Support audience at our Business Partners. These topics are designed to cover a wide variety of subjects such as the introduction of key new features, clarification of processes, recommendations on optimal design and best practices and sales execution. In addition to the “how-to” portion of the call there will be live Q&A sessions at the end of each session with the subject matter experts to clarify the topics presented or answer related questions from the audience. These webinars will be offered twice on each scheduled date, with the calendar of topics, dates and times posted to the Intranet, Enterprise Business Partner Web Site and public web-site (if applicable).

Each of these webinars will be archived and added to the knowledge base that partners can access, search and replay as refreshers or to catch up on sessions they miss.

New Technical Sales Support Hotline
Beginning April 1st Alcatel-Lucent will open access to a new Technical Sales Support hotline to provide our business partners with 7x24 access to answer basic questions regarding system configuration, solution sizing, quotation tools and virtually any other technical sales or solution design issue that may come up. This new support option is available through our existing business partner support hotline and welcome center at 877-729-7299, option 4.

These calls will be routed to the Global Alcatel-Lucent Business Partner Welcome Center, staffed by trained L1 Global Central Pre-Sales Support Group. This centralized team will be able to handle basic pre-sales, product or quotation tool questions for the fastest resolution. More advanced pre-sales, product, solution or quotation tool questions will be assigned to the newly created North American Development and Mentoring Team for resolution.

The North American Development and Mentoring team is made up of a combination of Pre-Sales Engineers and Technical Trainers who will handle the more advanced product, solution or ACTIS questions and will use those incoming questions as an opportunity to mentor the partner sales or pre-sales person on the topic in question.

Questions or topics which are very deal specific and related to ongoing engagements with the local Alcatel-Lucent Sales and SE team will be routed to them for support and final resolution.

Questions or topics which are extremely technical or related to products that may be under technical control will be routed to the Alcatel-Lucent RSC North America Solution Architects Team for final resolution, as is done today.

Data gathered from the inbound support calls will be used to create new proactive mentoring topics and improve the formal sales and pre-sales training and certification program.
