Musician, television personality and radio broadcaster Jon Hammond boarded a Concorde in 1981 to travel from New York to Paris at supersonic speed, and he never slowed down.
Jon travels the world, touring in Europe and Asia two or three times each year while broadcasting his “HammondCast” morning radio show seven days a week. At home in the United States, Jon splits his time between New York City and San Francisco and performs four to five concerts each month at local hospitals, nursing homes and prisons. His cable television program, “The Jon Hammond Show,” is in its 25th year and going strong.
“In my business, it’s essential to be contactable 24/7. I couldn't organize as much as I do without being ALWAYS ON.”
Jon thrives in an environment that’s non-stop, doing interviews and post production for his daily broadcasts which he uploads to the radio station from all over the world. Thanks to today’s advanced communication technology, Jon can work anytime and anywhere he pleases – Jon once produced a show and uploaded it to the internet while soaring at 39,000 feet on a trans-continental flight!
A self-proclaimed “late-comer” to the internet age, Jon at one time used the power of the pen to communicate, writing more than 2,000 letters to friends and family each year while traveling through Europe. Now equipped with broadband connections, web-enabled television, WiFi at his favorite local coffeehouse and a smart phone that’s always on, Jon never misses a beat. He uses blogs, RSS feeds and social networking sites to stay in constant touch with friends and fellow musicians all over the world.
