These services offer engineering support to customers who want to keep in house the strategic planning of their network, while relying on Alcatel to provide advice for required changes or to help minimize risks during evolutionary phases.
These consulting services can apply to an entire network, or to specifically selected components (technology, service domains, access, edge, core, transmission, fixed or mobile, etc.) or to selected geographic segments (regional, national, international).
Quality Improvement
This service assists Alcatel's customers by providing recommendations for the optimization of the network in terms of traffic flow as well as the perception of service quality by end customers in multi-technology, multi-vendor environments.
Based on operator priorities, the service may cover two main domains:
- Network-based quality analysis and optimization aimed at increasing return on investment (ROI).
- End user service-based quality analysis, aimed at detecting and analyzing the main reasons for poor quality perception by end-users, thus protecting the customer base and existing revenues
The service identifies network and service quality issues, defines the sources of poor quality and provides improvement plans to address identified problems by using industry best practices as well as international standard key performance indicators.

Network and Traffic Assessment
This service assists Alcatel's customers in obtaining a clear and comprehensive picture of their network topology and traffic patterns. This service may also provide the following assessments:
Network inventory:
- Tracking of network hardware and software inventory
- Tracking of hardware and software revision levels
- Tracking of spares inventory and managing equipment returns
- Updating asset database based on field service and other maintenance activities
Traffic inventory:
- Maintenance of circuit or traffic records database
- Assurance that traffic inventory is promptly and correctly updated with Moves, Adds or Changes (MACs) to the network
- Input for assessing network capacity and evolution plans
Capacity assessment
- Regular reports on equipment and network utilization
