France. Puteaux. 1989
Far from the bars of political prisons, racism and intolerance, this France is my foster country during my exile. France is my anchorage point on a nomadic road. It is the foster country of many political and economic refugees who have found here a land where they can live more freely, more democratically, more fairly. For many years, the France Terre d'Asile Association (FTDA) has helped refugees upon their arrival on French soil. During the first two weeks of their stay in an elsewhere much different from what they have known, they can stay in two FTDA centers, either in Puteaux or in Créteil. While the parents follow training programs and go through the administrative procedure required for their integration, loving and dedicated educators take care of the children. Even though communication cannot happen through words, the warmth and sincerity of their love make up for it.
