In Monaco on October 17, Alcatel's "America's Cup Live Sailing" won the 2006 SPORTEL Golden Podium Award for "Best Sports Sequence Formatted for Mobile Screens".
America's Cup Live Sailing by Alcatel offers live and archive access to three-dimensional animations of every race of the 32nd America's Cup. In palm of their hands, sailing fans get key race facts including boat speeds, times and distances and puts control of camera choice, angles and zoom.
This is the second award for America's Cup Live Sailing which was honored at the prestigious 2006 GSMA Awards in Barcelona

For 16 years, the Golden Podium Awards have been awarded to directors of the world's best sports TV images. Winners receive the Golden Podium trophy, a sculpture made by renowned artist Raymond Moretti.
