Alcatel has just announced two agreements in mobile TV with Eutelsat and Samsung, which is a major success for its strategy to promote Mobile TV in S band in Europe.

Alcatel and Samsung Electronics have signed an agreement to develop mobile handsets compatible with the evolution of the DVB-H standard in the S-Band. This is part of Alcatel's Unlimited Mobile TV solution. Alcatel and Samsung will collaborate on interoperability testing in order to deliver a seamless end-to-end solution to operators and a high quality Mobile TV service to end-users.

Eutelsat Communications, one of the world's leading satellite operators, and Alcatel announced that Eutelsat has confirmed the decision to embark an S-Band payload on the W2A satellite for which the construction contract was awarded earlier this year. Alcatel welcomes this decision which is a major success for its strategy to promote Mobile TV in S band in Europe, and confirms its vision of the market and the attractiveness of its solution.
