Industry analyst firm, Dell’Oro, has confirmed Alcatel's worldwide leadership in the digital subscriber line (DSL) market. According to fourth quarter 2004 data, Alcatel's cumulative market share has increased to 37.8% with a total of more than 58 million cumulative DSL lines shipped. The Dell'Oro Group also confirms Alcatel's No. 1 DSL position in the Asia Pacific market for 2004 with a 22.7% share of all DSL lines shipped in the region. Year-over-year, Alcatel's market share in the Asia Pacific region increased by more than 40% compared to 2003.
Alcatel continues to lead the DSL market with more than four times the cumulative global DSL line volume of any other supplier, holding the leading share position in every region of the world.
In optical networking, industry analyst, RHK, has reconfirmed the company's #1 position in the USD 9.8 billion worldwide optical networking market for the fourth consecutive year with a 15.6% market share. "Ethernet service delivery, broadband adoption and 3G deployments have been playing an increasing role in the optical networking market over 2004. Alcatel offers a wide range of solutions to address these market demands and the market has rewarded them with the number one position," stated Dana Cooperson, Group Director, Optical Networks at RHK. |
