SSH provides secure logon for Windows and UNIX clients and servers. SSH replaces Telnet, FTP and other remote logon utilities with an encrypted alternative.
SSH provides a secure mechanism that allows you to log in to a remote switch to execute commands on a remote device and move files from one device to another. Secure Shell leverages well-known transport and encryption technologies to provide secure, encrypted communications even when your transmission is between two untrusted hosts or over an unsecure network.
Key Features

The OmniSwitch 8000 and the OmniSwitch 7000 series offer SSH capability for secure switch management.
The OmniSwitch has incorporated client and server components of the Secure Shell interface and the Secure Shell Telnet protocol (STELNET is a subsystem of the Secure Shell protocol). All traffic is encrypted through a Secure Shell channel to secure management traffic between the client(s) and the switch, or from switch to switch.
SSHv2 (OmniSwitch 8800) as well as SSL, SNMPv3, and HTTPS for secure switch access and traffic are also supported.
