HP Helps Alcatel-Lucent to Create State-of the-Art Data Center

New Marcoussis, France, Data Center Transforms IT into Competitive Advantage

HP and Alcatel-Lucent today announced the successful migration to a new state-of-the-art, Tier Four data center.(1) Located just outside of Paris in Marcoussis, it is the most robust, secure and fault tolerant type of data center available to date.

•  Alcatel-Lucent consolidating 25 data centers worldwide into 6 locations by end of 2009
•  Marcoussis demonstrates how operations are being transformed into revenue-generating assets
•  Infrastructure built on award-winning OmniSwitch networking products and HP's industry-standard servers
•  Surplus capacity to be leased through Data IV (joint venture with Colony Capital)
•  HP Services designed and implemented redundant architecture, provided thermal assessment to optimize power usage, and assisted with relocation of 850 servers from legacy data centers.
•  Facility designed for extremely high availability – houses Alcatel-Lucent's own mission-critical applications
•  Facility will serve as primary NOC supporting Alcatel-Lucent application businesses and Services Business Group
